WindMW / Heligoland base

Project Meerwind Süd | Ost is characterized by its relatively short distance to the island of Heligoland and is therefore used as the maintenance base and service point.
For this reason, the operating base and service base of WindMW and WindMW Service GmbH were set up on Heligoland.

WindMW has various requirements for the service base:

Since 2013, the hotel atoll, which was purchased by WindMW in 2019, near the landing stages on the lower land, has been used as accommodation for business partners, guests and employees.

Warehouse and storage facilities with site management
The main core of the activities of WindMW and WindMW Service GmbH on Heligoland is the service station with the warehouse and storage facilities on a plot size with approximately 3600 m². The facilities consist of the warehouse, a two-storey goods depot of approximately 800 m² with attached workshops and tool storages. Furthermore one can find changing and sanitary facilities on the ground floor of the office wing. Sufficient offices for the site management, a staff room and representation areas complete the first floor. A waste disposal area on the outdoor range is able to house all different kinds of waste to be separated and stored temporarily till removal.

Start of construction work on the warehouse and storage facilities has been May 6 2013 with a scheduled completion in March 2014.

The Warehouse and storage facilities are within a short distance to the coming berthing place of service vessels on the Südkaje (southern quay) of the existing Vorhafen on Heligoland.

As part of further expansion measures at the south quay, ship refueling facilities, fuel and fresh water supplies, and the required berths were made available and have been in use since around January 2017.
